Promoting improved techniques for ensuring clinical and facility planning best practice.

Strategic Healthcare Planning commissioned by Rönesans, provided new insight into the way in which the clinical brief, its validation and assimilation, can be translated into a workable and robust design.
The Project comprises of an integrated health campus with a total capacity of 1,038 beds, which covers an area of 294,591 m2. There is an 888 bedded Main Hospital, a 60-unit Oral and Dental Clinic along with a 150 bedded Forensic Psychiatric Hospital that has been based upon the principles developed by SHP as part of the Turkish National Mental Health Programme.

The Main Hospital consists of 3 patient tower blocks surrounding a common core; this includes a 493-bed General Hospital, a 299-bed Women’s/Maternity and Children’s Hospital and a 96-bed Psychiatric Hospital All hospitals within the campus include Inpatient beds; Polyclinics; Diagnosis and Treatment facilities, Support services and Technical areas.

SHP Roles and Responsibilities

SHP supported Rönesans and their architectural team by providing full and detailed reviews of architectural drawings at 1:500 and 1:200, advising on clinical and facilities management issues and flows. Evidence-based information was also provided to enable the client to seek Ministry of Health approval to proposed changes to the Project Brief, including creating a schedule of accommodation in order to highlight opportunities and specific responses to the models of care. SHP were pleased to help support and facilitate the workshops and presentations held in Ankara.
