John B. Clarke
John B. Clarke FIHEEM

John Clarke is a director of SHP and leads the facility planning arm of the business. John was, for 10 years, a partner in Temple Cox Nicholls Architects, one of Birmingham’s leading Architectural practices. Since the formation of SHP in 1996, John has concentrated on providing consultancy services to the wider healthcare industry. John has proven success in the implementation, planning and design of the full range of healthcare facilities including University Hospitals, District General Hospitals, Specialist Services Hospitals, Mental Health Facilities and Primary Care Facilities. John has also been actively involved in advising the Public Sector and its Private Sector Partners in the PFI arena since 1995, and has been acknowledged as one of the country’s leading advisors in this field.
 
Gregory J. Pike
Gregory J. Pike B.Sc C.Eng, MIMechE, MCIBSE, MIHSM

Greg Pike is a director of SHP and his career covers a unique combination of consultancy expertise, top level NHS general management experience and an extensive career in NHS Estates and Capital planning. His successful 27 year career in the NHS has been augmented with a broad range of consulting skills and experience since 2000 through his experience at SHP. Greg’s earlier career included a successful progression through NHS Estates organisations achieving Deputy Chief Works Officer and Area Engineer posts with key responsibilities for Capital Projects. This was followed by 14 years in top management positions including Chief Executive for an Acute NHS Trust, Project Director for strategic change at NHS Regional level and several Unit General Manager posts including managing soft FM services.
 
Christopher M. Wood
Christopher M. Wood Bsc Hons, BArch, MAPM, RIBA

Chris Wood is a director of SHP a registered Architect and a member of the Association for Project Management with over 25 years of healthcare experience. Prior to the formation of SHP, Chris was an associate of Abbey Hanson Rowe for 12 years and previously as a principal architect with the North West Regional Health Authority. His responsibilities included co-ordination and preparation of hospital policies, standards and clinical planning. Chris’ current role includes working directly with healthcare personnel in the preparations of planning briefs, assessing functional content standards, detailing design and contract administration. He is acts as lead consultant coordinating the work of technical teams. In addition to the above, Chris has extensive experience in developing the estates component of major business cases and public sector comparators.
 
Huw Lambert
Huw Lambert B.A (Hon’s), Diploma in Architecture, RIBA

Huw is a qualified Architect and a senior healthcare planner. He has considerable experience of the detailed planning and design of a full range of healthcare facilities including: University Hospitals; District General Hospitals; Community Hospitals; Mental Health Facilities; Health Education & Research Facilities and Primary Care Facilities. Huw’s project involvement covers all work stages from concept studies to the use of 3D graphic software to demonstrate and test design visions with users, through preparation of project briefs, option appraisal, feasibility reports, utilisation studies and estate strategies. Huw also has extensive experience of technical and administrative management and the coordination of the collective design and overall team effort at both pre and post contract stages. Huw has been with SHP since 1996
 
Jane McMahon
Jane McMahon Post Grad Cert and Diploma in Managing Health and Social Care, PRINCE 2 – Foundation and Practitioner Levels

Jane is a senior healthcare planner and has been with SHP since 2002. Her experience includes working with the NHS and their private sector partners across a spectrum of healthcare planning modernisation and investment initiatives. Her roles have included health facility planning, service and business planning, process re-engineering, policy development and service review. Her NHS experience included clinical administration and operational management within both primary and secondary care. Jane has also worked with multi-professional clinical teams.
 
Mike Wilson
Mike Wilson B.A (Hon’s), BSc Osteopathy, MIHM, and MSc in IT for Management

Mike is a senior healthcare planner and since joining SHP in 2003 has worked on a wide range of projects covering strategic service and estate planning, facility planning, business cases, and activity and capacity modelling. Mike works directly with NHS organisations and also in support of PFI, LIFT and P21 supply chains. Mike has been involved in healthcare management, planning and information analysis for more than 25 years. Prior to joining SHP in 2003, Mike held senior NHS management positions at both health authority and trust levels over a period of twenty years. He also has clinical experience as an osteopath.
 
Carly Skitt
Carly Skitt B.A (Hon’s), PRINCE 2 Practitioner, MIHM, MAPM

Carly is a senior healthcare planner and has worked on a wide range of projects since joining SHP in 2007. These have covered estate reconfiguration, strategic service development plans and business case development. Carly has experience of working in acute and non acute care sectors of the NHS. She has held corporate management posts that have required her to work at both an operational and trust board level with clinical and managerial colleagues. Carly has experience in Clinical Service Reviews, Integrated Business Planning, Programme Management and Change Management.
 
Helen Jarvie
Helen Jarvie B.A (Hon’s) Business Studies

Helen has been an associate of SHP since February 2001working across a broad range of service and capital planning projects supporting NHS organisations and their partners with the delivery of the modernisation agenda. Helen has extensive experience as an operational NHS Manager. She has worked within Acute Trusts at a senior level for over 10 years managing the majority of Medical and Surgical clinical services. Her key skills included project planning, facilitation and change management to deliver quality and efficiency improvements.
 
Lisa Hollick
Paul Sheldon B.Sc (Hon’s) Architectural Design Technology, CIAT – Associate member

Paul has recently re-joined SHP in a technical support capacity after a spell gaining wider experience elsewhere. Paul’s background as an Architectural Technician includes considerable experience of the detailed planning, design and construction of a variety of buildings spanning all sectors of the industry. He now specialises in the Healthcare Sector.

Paul’s project experience covers all work stages from concept studies to the use of 3D graphic software to demonstrate and test design visions with users, through preparation of project briefs, option appraisal, feasibility reports and utilisation studies.

Paul also has extensive experience of technical and administrative management and the coordination of the collective design and overall team effort at pre and post contract stages. He also provides valuable technical and IT input into the design processes and fulfils a key role in the development and realisation of a wide range of outputs.

 
Lisa Hollick
Lisa Hollick Lisa is a healthcare planner and has been with SHP since 2001. She has over that time been supporting projects in a technical and administrative capacity. Her experience includes creating and validating schedules of accommodation, adjacency and flow diagrams and room data sheets. She has also undertaken site surveys and reported in relation to estate and site development strategies. Her background experience is in relation to assisting with the development of strategic documents and reports such as clinical specifications, estate strategies and business cases.
