Strategic Healthcare Planning was delighted to have been selected by the British Embassy in Ankara to represent the British Government in hosting and delivering a series of two-day workshops for the Turkish Ministry of Health on the subject of PPP in healthcare with a particular focus on the operational elements.
SHP Partner, Jeremy Cox, successfully led the team that delivered the first of the workshops on 18th and 19th January 2017 in Ankara.
Over 20 selected representatives of various strands of the public health system attended the sessions. They engaged enthusiastically with the team’s legal expert Barry Francis on many of the aspects of the Form of Agreement that affected the stages in which they are actively involved with new hospitals under design/construction.
The remaining sessions will be held at 2-weekly intervals to provide an intensive learning experience. The British Government is seeking to make knowledge and skills available to Turkey by encouraging British expertise to assist their Ministry counterparts and arranged for SHP to carry out the first project.
The workshop coincided with the opening of Turkey’s first PPP hospital at Yozgat, a scheme in which SHP had been previously involved.
